Stamped Concrete
Home and business property owners today frequently choose stamped concrete over stone masonry in their restoration and installation projects. Why? Because concrete is versatile, durable, affordable and beautiful.
- Versatility: Stamped concrete can be created to look like almost any stone and other natural materials in design and color.
- Durability: Stamped concrete is specially coated with a sealer to keep it functional for years.
- Affordability: Stamped concrete is more affordable than actual stones or slate. For example, stamped concrete can cost one third to one half of the cost of stone or slate.
- Beauty: Stamped concrete can be designed in almost any texture, pattern and color, allowing it to blend in with the natural surroundings in your yard or stand out as a focal point in your house.
Stamped concrete is a stamp or finish that is placed on concrete while it is wet and moldable. Chemical hardeners and pigments are worked into the concrete surface, then textures and patterns are imprinted on the cement with a stamping process to create the look of natural stone or other natural materials (slate, wood, fossils, shells, etc.)
Once cleaned and cured, the decorative concrete is given a coat of sealant. The sealant is used to protect and beautify the finish.
